Richard Wilson, a practicing attorney in Moundsville since 1991, announced the opening of his law firm. The Wilson Law Offices are located at 515 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, West Virginia. Since 1991, he has represented clients primarily in personal injury cases, Social Security claims, and other liability claims including defective products, premises liability, and insurance bad faith claims. As part of his personal injury practice, he has developed a special interest in representing individuals and families in issues involving nursing home and personal care home negligence and liability and abuse and neglect of the elderly. He is a member of the Association of trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) and ATLA's Nursing Home Litigation Group and has presented several papers fir publication in the area of nursing home litigation. Wilson is licensed to practice in West Virginia and Ohio. He is admitted to practice in both states as well as United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to the membership in the ATLA, Wilson holds memberships in the West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the West Virginia State Bar. He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. Wilson also serves as an assistant prosecutor in Marshall County prosecuting all types of felony and misdemeanor crimes.
Wilson is a graduate of West Virginia University obtaining both undergraduate (BS in Secondary Education, 1988) and law (JD, 1991) degrees from there. He is a lifelong resident of Marshall County. He and his wife, Tricia, have two sons, Ryan and Gage.
